broken wings - a request

Bright of feather,
Hollow of bone,
Earthbound tether,
Heaven’s Shown,

Unable to recall,
Words once spoken,
Brace for fall,
My wings broken,

It oft calls,
Me to embrace,
But these walls,
Hide her face,

Her soft reply,
From once upon,
“You’ll not fly,
I moved on”

So you ask
“Was it a lie?”
All a mask?
Beloved’s deny

Wordless steal,
At night gaze,
Wings won’t heal,
In spiting maze…

But I did,
Love with all,
My love outbid,
Yet still thrall,

So no vow,
Will suffice,
No hopes endow,
My sacrifice,

Live I still,
Ask not why?
Again I will,
Regain the sky,
