In a land far away,
A dragon held the land in sway,
And a greedy king wished not to pay,
A questing princess could save the day,

So he had a cunning plan,
Across the country heralds ran,
To save all the money he can,
And from his lands this dragon ban,

So he called for femme warrior pride,
A purest maiden to be his bride,
And cast the net wide,
But more he planned than dictum implied,

Soon a princess a dragon reaver,
She went to the king the known deceiver,
For a fair maid she was neither,
In her skill she was a believer,

“ A woman can slay a dragon never,”
The old king thought he was clever,
Ere his pursestring yield to sever,
She said “ You’re on your own in this endeavor”

“ Fine” she said with a smile,
I’ll just watch and wait awhile,
And sat she did with her nail file,
“ A meal perhaps before the aisle.”

That night they ate and dined,
The king found odd tastes when he wined,
And treated her in no way kind,
For greed could make even eagles blind,

Soon the dragon flew in strong,
Roaring and scorching the huddled throng,
And the old king saw what was wrong,
And the king heard his swam song,

The dragon the old king devour,
It’s stomach churned his taste sour,
The warrior woman held up a flower,
Blade drawn, “ Dragon I’ll meet you in the tower”

Soon the dragon in his rage,
Fought a battle to mark the age,
With one good stroke she turned the page,
Greed of both paid a terrible wage

“You tasted the king foul was his mettle,”
“ His soul needed time in the kettle”
“ No better poison than nettle,”
“ You die defeat not by blade but petal”

So the country had a new queen,
Many wars she’d fought and seen,
That when men and dragon act obscene,
But no sharper blade than a mind so keen,
