stages

Stages

At the entrance I paid it’s fee,
And in the dark the footlights shine,
My spirit, like the verse is free,
And in that moment your soul is mine,

Like the actor deal in layer,
And we gird to the task,
Our religeon the players prayer,
As we once again don the mask,

Give me words and heroic deed,
Villains, heroes, or support,
For your love fills the deepest need,
With demonic muses we consort.

Soon the players time will pass,
We had your heart, in our hand,
Our other life Is hourglass,
Life and death at our command,

And in this bargain devilish,
We lied for you to believe,
The latter truth we did embellish.
And we were paid to deceive,

But as all things grow in stages,
Ancient player smiles to callow youth,
The players in aged page rages,
To find a nobler truth,
